Hello and Welcome to my 24-hour media diet for August 22, 2023!
My media consumption is consistent daily. I have very limited leisure time on the weekends, and my social media scrolling is lessened. I am rather busy with ridesharing and chores therefore, my followers might not hear from me as regularly.

Before I head out for the day, I like to know what is happening in the world! I navigated Instagram for informative content, breaking news, celebrity gossip, crime, health and fitness, fashion, and beauty tips. I scrolled down my timeline to see what my friends and followers were up to. I also stopped by ABC, TMZ, and The Shade Room to catch up on celebrity gossip and breaking news. I encountered a fascinating post on Wealth’s Instagram account about the Hazda tribe in Tanzania, who are one of the last living hunters and gatherers. During my time here at ASU, I have taken two courses that have helped me understand human evolution and food sources. This post was fascinating since it is part of what I have studied and developed an interest in.

1010WINS/93.2 FM Radio
BBC News
While listening to traffic updates as it began to rain, the radio reporting switched from weather updates to technology reporting. The reporter at 1010 WINS shared news about Nvidia’s increase in stocks and the demand for their chips to assist with generative AI. They also covered Donald Trump’s latest indictment in Atlanta, GA, as well as the upcoming presidential debate. I only had the mental capacity for 3-4 hours of news today because it was rather heartbreaking to hear of the overwhelming amount of turmoil in my own city from the migrant crisis, police-involved shootings, random attacks, and the MTA’s proposed congestion pricing.

TikTok
I logged into TikTok and encountered a DIY video on how to turn an oversized t-shirt into a form-fitting dress. While surfing the platform, I also investigated getting better engagement and more followers. I learned that adding your location can draw more viewers. Simultaneously, I was listening to FM radio. I flipped the switch between the news radio station, 97.1, 105.1, and 102.7. All these stations update traffic and news breaks periodically, which make them my preferred choices. Today was particularly convenient because there was an eighteen-wheeler stuck on the highway on the route I usually take to get home. Without listening to the news stations or using WAZE navigation, I’d be stuck in traffic forever.

I was scrolling Instagram while listening to music on Pandora at the gym. Since my birthday is a few months away, I was looking for workout inspiration so that I can look great in whatever I decide to wear. I also hash-tagged inspiration for healthy meal recipes to prepare for dinner. Of course, after toggling a search for meals, several posts appeared. I stopped by The Moody Foody’s page and found a recipe for lettuce wraps and baked chicken. There were some dessert recipes I would like to try once I find the needed ingredients. I logged out for today to prepare dinner and get some homework done. I hope you have enjoyed my media diet. Until next time!
