Traditionally, clothing design is a creative process that involves a very well strategized design process. Now with the help of AI, stylists can create new designs more efficiently and accurately. The biggest challenge designers face is authenticity. AI algorithms can analyze data from social media, fashion blogs, and consumer habits. They can also identify emerging trends and forecast what styles, colors, and patterns will be popular in the coming seasons. This could serve as a great tool for retailers and design houses for sales purposes.

One of the biggest impacts of AI in fashion is in supply chain management. According to a report from Datamation, “Customer-facing retailers are using AI to gain a better understanding of their key demographics to make better predictions about future behavior”. With AI models capable of obtaining consumer behavior, businesses can make more informed decisions about inventory and how frequently to stock merchandise. This can help reduce chargebacks to the vendors and improve customer satisfaction. This would be highly effective in reducing the production of garments that would be less likely to sell or end up on the clearance rack.

Another area where AI might be beneficial is marketing. Marketing would be more insightful and effective since AI uses a targeted approach. With AI-powered marketing tools, businesses can make better use of analytics to determine what strategies they will use to target their audience. If used effectively, AI would also be a great tool for advertising and targeting a specific demographic. This could potentially save businesses money while making them mor competitive. Although AI may not provide the most creative design input, it is highly capable of saving design houses time and money with respect to garment sourcing and the creative planning process. Overall, AI in fashion would lead to brand innovation, larger sales, and more effective target marketing.
